Love the shoes.

My good friend Cuong was stopped in front of the Hermes store in Boston and asked about what he had just purchased.  He answered honestly, and good-naturedly, and even seemed a bit embarrassed by what he’d just acquired.  Flip-flops.  For $250.  Okay, perhaps a smidge ridiculous, but whatever.  Sometimes we buy things for shits and giggles simply becuase we want it.  And if you’ve got the scratch, then I say what the hell.

Well, his answers were turned into a through-line on an NPR show called On Point, and it’s actually pretty funny.  The hostess attempts to do snark, but fails mostly, and Cuong, now knowing the context in which his answers would be used, just jovially answers the questions.

It’s a long show, but perhaps just listen to the first few minutes for a laugh or two.
